On Wednesday, June 06, 2018, a Jeff Davis Parish Patrol Deputy and a Jeff Davis Parish Detective responded to 3024 Bucklin Road, Jennings, Louisiana to attempt to locate a stolen four wheeler. The detective had received information that a stolen four wheeler was located at 3024 Bucklin Road. The stolen four wheeler, a 2016 Honda, had been reported stolen to the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office on May 31, 2018.
Deputies were able to locate a four wheeler and verify it was the stolen Honda. As the deputies were recovering the stolen four wheeler, a vehicle passed by the residence and a passenger in the vehicle, Dwight Dugas Jr. was identified as a resident of 3024 Bucklin Road. The vehicle, being driven by Jermey Freeney, was stopped near the intersection of Bucklin Road and Highway 26.
The vehicle was searched and illegal narcotics were recovered. Freeney was arrested for traffic and drug charges. Further investigation revealed that Dugas as well as other occupants in the vehicle, Zachery Jacquet and a male juvenile were all arrested in connection to the stolen four wheeler. The three adults were booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail without incident. The juvenile was arrested and released to his mother.
