Attempted Manslaughter charge on Kinder man

Jefferson Davis parish sheriff’s office picked up a suspect involved in the attack on his girlfriend. 

In April 2018, the girlfriend was admitted into Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette with severe head injuries, that required surgery on her brain. 

On May 10, the victim’s niece was visiting her in the hospital and was told by the victim that her boyfriend, Darrell Comeaux had severely beat her, and when she tried to leave the home, Comeaux followed her down the road, tackling her and began beating her head until she blacked out.

Detectives were informed of the new information by the victims niece and a warrant was obtained for his arres.  Darrell  Paul Comeaux, 66, of 27521 Highway 383, Kinder was booked on 1 count of Attempted Manslaughter.  He is being held on $100,000 bond in the Jeff Davis Parish Jail.
