Welsh search warrant lead to drug arrests

Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Narcotics deputies armed with search warrants conducted raids on three separate residences in Welsh this morning.  A joint operation with the Combined Anti drug task Force, Homeland Security, Welsh Police, and Louisiana State Police Swat teams served warrants at 207 North Carter street, Welsh, 301 North Carter street and 102 North Carter street, Welsh. 

Narcotics detectives recovered illegal narcotics from two of the residences and made two arrests.  Reginald Eugene Patterson, 38, of 301 N. Carter street was arrested on charges of Distribution of CDS II, Possession of CDS II with intent to distribute, Possession of Marijuana, and on outstanding arrest warrant for Distribution of CDS II. Investigators recovered marijuana and crack cocaine from Patterson’s residence.

Marques Wayne Hensley, 33, of 207 N. Carter street, Welsh was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, and an outstanding warrant for Distribution of CDS II. Investigators recovered marijuana, electronic scales and a bag suspected to contain cocaine.  Both Hensley and Patterson are held with no bond in the parish jail.  Additional arrests are expected.
