Sheriff Ivy Woods thanks the public for their assistance in identifying the truck and driver that passed the school bus on the shoulder. The driver is scheduled to turn himself in Monday morning.

Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s office is asking the public for help in identifying a vehicle that committed a serious traffic violation that could have resulted in a death. On March 20, 2018, at approximately 3:10 pm a semi-tractor truck passed a stopped bus on LA 26 southbound just north of Jennings.  The semi passed the bus on the shoulder at a high rate of speed.  

The two photo’s attached show a white tractor trailer with a red and blue or black stripe on the front fender and a blue or black stripe on the sleeper. If anyone recognizes the truck and know who the driver is, please contact the Sheriff’s office at (337) 821-2100.
