Pedestrian arrested for resisting and Public Intox

03/05/2018

On March 2, 2018, Deputies patrolling on Eighth Street between Mill Avenue and Ravey Avenue, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, observed a white female walking in the roadway. The female identified as Tessa Hebert, 31, of 600 Boatner street, Gueydan appeared to be intoxicated. Hebert stated that she needed and wanted to get to her father’s residence in Gueydan and said she was not feeling well.

As deputies were questioning her,  she became erratic yelling “cop, help me, help me”. Hebert lunged toward deputies, grabbing a deputies arm and shirt. As deputies tried to detain her, Hebert was grabbing the deputies Taser and pepper spray on his duty belt. Hebert continuously resisted when deputies placed her in handcuffs. Hebert was transported to the Jeff Davis Parish Jail where she was booked for Disturbing the Peace Public Intoxication, Battery of a Police Officer, and Resisting an Officer with no bond.
