Deputies handled a call Sunday afternoon when an off duty deputy received a telephone call from a concerned mother.  The deputy was told by the complainant that her daughter’s friend had a red swollen eye and that she had been in argument with her father that resulted in the victim being punched in the eye. The off duty deputy contacted the Sheriff’s office and a patrol deputy was dispatched to handle the investigation.

Deputies spoke to the juvenile victim at her friend’s residence in Jennings and observed a swollen and red right eye. The victim stated that her father pulled her shirt during an argument and struck her in the face.  Deputies met with the father at his residence on Woodland drive in Jennings. 

The father, John Michael Richardson, 45, of 3014 Woodland Drive, Jennings, LA stated that they did argue and he did grab her when she pushed past him to walk away but denied hitting her.  Deputies placed him under arrest for Domestic abuse battery and transported him to the parish jail for booking. Richardson bonded out Sunday evening on $1,000.00 bond.
