Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

Jeff Davis Sheriff’s patrol stopped a vehicle Friday evening for a traffic violation on Calcasieu Avenue, Lake Arthur. The driver, Seth Joseph Pujol, 27, of 522 Paris Ln, Houma, LA was discovered to be under suspension and had no driver’s license in his possession.  K-9 Bean alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.  Deputies discovered drug paraphernalia, specifically a used needle and syringe, a spoon with white residue on it and drugs to include promethazine hydrochloride and Suboxone.  Deputies also discovered two orange pill bottles containing a liquid. Pujol admitted to deputies the liquid was urine his girlfriend provided him so that he could pass a drug test.   Pujol he was placed under arrest for LA RS's: 32:104 Turning Movements and Required Signals, 32:415 Driving Under Suspension, 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 40:1238.1 Possession of a Legend Drug, 40:968.C Possession of CDS Schedule III, and 14:102.25 Unlawfully supplying of any product for the purpose of falsifying a screening test. Pujol was transported to the Jeff Davis Parish Jail and booked on the above charges with no bond.
