Marijuana Seized in Roanoke Investigation

On Wednesday, July 30, 2014, Jefferson Davis Sheriff's Detectives executed a search warrant in Roanoke, LA at 209 5th street. While searching the residence Detectives discovered a cell phone. The phone displayed a text message asking if any "hydro" (slang for marijuana) was needed.  Detectives answered the text message and arranged to purchase a half ounce of marijuana for a price of $150. Detectives also recovered 82 packages of synthetic marijuana, approximately 1000 grams.
 
Detectives went to the WalMart located at 303 East Interstate Drive and arranged to meet the suspect.  Detectives placed unmarked units in the parking lot and Detectives waited for the suspect to arrive.  The suspect arrived and sent a text message to meet at the gas pump at Murphy USA.  Detectives observed one red vehicle parked at the gas pump and approached the vehicle with two occupants in the vehicle.  Detectives had the driver and passenger exit and Detectives observed two large bags of marijuana, one on the drivers seat and one on the passenger side floorboard.  Detectives also located a digital scale during the search.

Both suspects were booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail on the charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Additional arrests are pending.
