On Thursday, March 7, Deputies were dispatched to 21265 Compton Road, Welsh, Louisiana, in reference to a family disturbance.

While in route, the complainant advised the suspect, Joel Shelden Pitre, 34, of 21265 Compton Road, Welsh, had left the residence and was heading north onto Edmund Walker Road.

Deputies located Pitre and found him to be under the influence and acting erratic.  During the stop deputies located suspected methamphetamine.  

Pitre's vehicle was towed by Bill's Wrecker Service.

Deputies transported Pitre to the parish jail where he was booked on Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule II, Remaining After Forbidden, Simple Assault, and warrant for Interfering with Emergency Communication.
